Stylus devices offer a more accurate touch detection than any other method.  The tip of a stylus is generally smaller than a user's fingertip enabling greater precision.  In addition they also avoid on-screen contamination of fingerprints, grease, creams, oil and dirt that could be carried on a user's fingertips and screens which use stylus products for interaction often require less cleaning.
